UNREAL Candy Unjunked

When I got this campaign from bzzagent I was expecting great things. Hoping for some really yummy candy to try out. With nine children it's not often that we buy what I would consider "junk" food, but candy is even lower on the priority list because it's usually very unhealthy and can cause weight gain in children (we won't mention what it does to MY hips) and adults.

My kids and I were drawn immediately to the packaging. Not only was it easy to spot, it doesn't look like "health" food wrappers which my teenagers would have balked at. It's very hip and eye catching.  We, of course, had to try the UN77 peanut butter cups, but we also picked up the UN41 (like M&M's) and the UN5 (like a Milky Way). We bought five packages of each and took them home to sample with the whole family.

UN77: Everyone voted this their favorite of all the of the candies sampled. My 15 year old, who is in marching band and on the wrestling team at school, said he liked that it has so much less sugar than the Resses that he can have it for a quick snack before practice and not feel like he had so much sugar that he can't have something sweet later.

All of the younger kids loved the chocolate and peanut butter candy. Lots of finger licking and smacking at that table! I was almost expecting the candy to have that gritty taste that the Slim Fast candy has...that nasty "I really want to taste good, but can't" scummy flavor. The Unreal candy didn't taste that way at all. It was sweet, no yucky after taste and I wanted to eat the second peanut butter cup. They were delicious with a glass of milk!

UN41: These were a hit with the little kids. Even the two year old was begging for the package after he finished his sample. I believe these were his favorite because they were easy to handle and chew. He had no problem with the flavor, either!! I also thought these tasted really great, nice, crunchy, sweet candy shell and delish chocolate inside...oh yeah.

UN5: The caramel in this was to die for! I would love it if Unreal made just a chocolate and caramel candy. The candy bar went over really well with all of us, no nasty after taste and it will travel well in a lunch box, backpack, diaper bag or purse.

All of my kids gave the candy they were allowed to sample "three thumbs way up" as my thirteen year old says! They had sticky faces and fingers to lick by the end of our taste test and the only complaint I got was that there wasn't more Unreal candy for later.

I feel really good about this brand...awesome, in fact.  I'm happy with the taste, the lower sugar level and the no preservatives or corn syrup. We have already gone back for more so they can be put in lunches as a special treat. I recommend anyone who has kids or a sweet tooth give this a try. They're so much better for you!
